"At the southern tip of Plum Island is an area called Sandy Point State Reservation. In May 2004 a small tree stood at the very edge of the high tide mark. Successive storms undermined its roots and the tree toppled over. During the next 3 years the tree has been a great source of inspiration. The beauty of the tree kept changing and I tried to capture as much of it as I could. It almost floated away during a big storm in April 2007 " - John Geesink
